| Mohe and North Pole Village |
 |
This is where the Mohe Village of the Mohe County is located. It is
the village at the utmost north part of China, neighboring to Russia
with only a river in between. It has been named as "north pole
village" and "night-less village". As early as 1860(the
tenth year of the Xianfeng Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty), people
began to settle down here and it used to a little post house on the
way to Yanzhi Fossa. There is a variety of sceneries, like "North
Border sentinel", "North Pole Stele of the Divine Land",
and "Utmost North Point". The Summer Solsticem is the busiest
time each year, when there are fascinating fire parties beside the
river all night long. |
