An'yang City is a ancient city with a history of over 3,000 years
and used to be one of the seven ancient capitals in China. It is situated
in the northernmost part of Henan Province. An'yang now administrates
five counties and foru districts covering an area of 7,413 square
kilometers and has a population of 4.87 million.
An'yang City is one of the key birthplaces of Chinese ancient culture.
Here are the primitive man cave of 25,000 years ago, the overlapping
stratums of the Yangshao Culture, Longshan Culture and Xiaotun Culture,
the memorial mausoleums of ancient Emperor Zhuan Xie and Emperor
Ku over 4,000 years ago, the first library of inscriptions on bones
of torooise shells, the Soul Spring Temple known as the "First
Ancient Buddhist Temple in Henan", and 10,000-Buddha Ravine,
as well as unique Wenfeng Pagoda, Xiuding Temple Pagoda and Mingfu
Temple Pagoda. An'yang has beautiful natural scenery. There are
the Taihang Linlu Hill Scenic Area on the 400-kilometer Taihang
Mountains and the grand 1,500-kilometer man-made Red Flag Canal.
If you are interested in flying, you may visit the An'yang Aviation
Sports School known as the "International Aviation Tourist
Park" and take part in airplane and helicopter flying, parachuting,
hang gliding, hot air balloon and other aviation sports.
An'yang's opening to the outside world has enabled its foreign
economic relations and trade progress rapidly. Sixteen foreign-funded
enterprises (joint Ventures, cooperative enterprises and wholly
foreign-owned enterprised) have been estatblished. Recently, An'yang
has established and economic and technological development zone
covering a total area of 22.8 square kilometers and issued a series
of preferential policies to attract many Chginese and foreign businesses.
Amultichannel, all-round foreign relations and trade network has
been set up to lay a foundation for developing An'yang's economy. |
